Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses and Residents

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restauranteurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines with no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
