Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
