Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses
They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the military.
These are not real members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
How to recognize scams and how to react
They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
if they have money, will no longer show themselves.
