Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not members of the armed forces but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

despite holding money, no longer appear in person.
