Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when telephonically contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal vigilance.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
