Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arme magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
