Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipality officers.

How to Recognize Scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
