Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate the Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, general police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving money, disappear.
