Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Victims

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the central and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions on behalf of the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately contact the real carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
