Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have no connection to law enforcement.
