Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They pose as carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the Arma.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
