Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
