Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
