Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
