Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately contact the actual Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
