Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Hoteliers and Shop Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the arm‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
