Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Locals

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance departments, police, fire brigades, or the Comune police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

desire money, disappear without a trace.
