Scammers Impersonate Law Enforcement in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police force.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to magazines that do not exist or that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
