Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when ringing up hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to police magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
