Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you have the suspicion that you have been targeted by individuals who,

withdrew money, no longer appear or show themselves.
