Scammers Impersonate Police, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Altogarda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
