Scammers Impersonate Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or to the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having money, disappear and are no longer visible.
