Scammers Impersonate Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the military‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not show up again.
