Scammers Impersonate Police to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, every time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those entirely unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,
