Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who periodically claim to belong to the finance police, police, firefighters, or local Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
