Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
