Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Business Owners in Garda Area

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or to publications unrelated to the law enforcement.
