Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or titles that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you have the suspicion that you have been targeted by someone who,
