Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the weapon magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you have the suspicion of being targeted by such individuals,

who, if they have money, will no longer appear.
