Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Businesses

They are pretending to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune‘s officers.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
