Scammers Impersonating Police Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to act

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, remain vigilant and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,
