Scammers Pose as Authorities to Target Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal Vigili.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
