Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area, Warns Police

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not real military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
