Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Region Outreach

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri—just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, do not show themselves again.
