Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not actual officers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would not show themselves again.
