Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to police-force magazines.
They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.
How to recognize scams
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
