Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when telephoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.
Recognizing the scams
They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
if they have money, will no longer show themselves.
