Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the arma.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
