Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

would demand money and then disappear.
