Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Promote Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
