Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
