Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.

So, be alert and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, no longer shows themselves.
