Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

However, they are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

would have money, and then disappears.
