Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

They break into Carabinieri by calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
