Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal Police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
