Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Garda Region Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
