Scammers Pose as Police for Garda Area Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,
