Scammers Pose as Police to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

Posing as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, they offer magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
