Scammers Pose as Police to Target Hoteliers and Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.

So, be careful and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,

may have money, no longer shows themselves.
