Scammers Posing as Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They falsely pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
